Morgan, however, refused to go outside. She was too scared. Instead, she stayed inside in this chair holding her ears and literally rocking while watching fireworks on TV.
Poor Carter had a little too much action (and a little too little napping) during the day so here is what he was doing while we were outside doing fireworks! Poor guy! (notice the drool! HA)
My big brave girl with her sparkler!
My lovely husband got ahold of the camera and took this...one of the few pictures you will ever see of me on here!!! (at least for another 40 pounds or so!)
On Saturday, we left around 9am and drove to Clear Lake north of Angola to the lake home of my cousin Chris and his wife Carol and had a wonderful day playing in the lake, on the boat, and having a cookout! Here is Emma just floating around...
And of course....Morgan was next....
Carter was floating too, but needed a little assistance from Roxy (Molly's cousin Jason's girlfriend)
Saturday night we had a looooong drive home from the lake with 3 TIRED kids and equally tired Mommy and Daddy. Poor Carter who had only a 45 minute nap in Grandma's arms was exhausted and did NOT want to be in his carseat. He literally cried from Ft. Wayne to home. All we could do to make him stop was to stop the car and get him out .... that wouldn't help us get home much faster! When we did get home, he didn't even want a bottle..he only wanted to go to bed! We put him to bed and then Chris and Emma and I went out into the driveway to watch the fireworks from the park. Morgan went to bed.
Sunday, we got up and started preparing for our next big day....the Triton Central Band Reunion! We had about 20-25 people here throughout the day and we had a cookout and a lot of fun catching up with kids we hadn't seen in years! We took this funny picture for them to put on Facebook but please note...all are over 21 and everyone has their caps on their beers (except Dan!) It was just a funny shot for posterity! Don't want anyone to think we are imbibing with our students here!!!! HA!
Angie Miller, one of the former students who is now at BSU, has this really long hair that she hasn't cut since she was 9 (except for trims, of course) Morgan and Emma were amazed and wanted to brush it....so they took turns brushing her hair! Angie also had a nose ring so Emma said "Angie, what is that sparkle on your nose?" and Angie got to try to explain to a 3 year old why she had a nose ring!
After they all left, we went over to our other neighbor Clint and Lori Albert's house and watched them set off some really big fireworks!! (Of course, Morgan skipped those too!)
That is about all the news for now...just wanted to get that all posted! We have a busy morning tomorrow and then VBS starts tomorrow night so I might not get another chance for a while!
