The week in review....

This week was a little nutty but pretty good! Morgan went to school each day as usual. She had her very first ever spelling test this week! (I wanted to go take a picture, she wouldn't let me!)They take a pretest on Monday on brand new words, there are 15 possible words.....the first 5 words they get wrong on the pretest are their 5 words to learn for the week. So, its possible that every kid in the class has a different set of 5 words. I imagine that gets confusing for the teacher, but it sure is a very cool way of making sure each kid gets some individualized learning! The "posttest" was today and Morgan got an A+! She was so proud. She only had to know her 5 words, but she knew all 15....in case you're curious what kinds of spelling words a first grader has in the 2nd week of school, her words were at, I, a, cat, sat, go, on, and, we, not, now, way, in, that, and my. I'm just glad my kid wasn't the one who got stumped on how to spell "I" or "a" HA! While I'm talking about Morgan, she also had her 2nd cheerleading class and also her performance for the cheerleading clinic she did back in early August. It was so cute! I have a video that won't load....I'll try again later.

We also signed Morgan up for Girl Scouts which we've never done before (I wasn't even ever in Girl Scouts!) So for anyone who doesn't have a regular Girl Scout cookie dealer, let us know and we'll hook you up!!! This week, we also got a laugh at Morgan because she was telling us all about her day and what she and her friends do at recess. She informed that she and her friend Iris were spying on the "populars" Trying not to laugh, we said "what are the populars?" and Morgan explainsed to us that the "populars are these fabulous girls who think they're fabulous" Where does she get these things?

Emma had her preschool open house where she got to see a lot of her friends from last year. She doesn't quite understand just yet that she is in the 4 year old class this year and a lot of her friends aren't 4 yet so they'll be in the 3 year old class and she won't get to see them. I'm a little worried at how she'll react. She also had her second dance class this week, which she loves. She gets to take it with her good friend Victoria and starting next week, her good friend Kamryn will be in it too. We got to meet my High School friend, Shantell, and her daughter Liliana on Thursday at the park to play and walk. Afterwards, my friend Katy invited us to come to the pool with them so we went and Emma got to play with her very best friends Alden and Kamryn. Carter sat and splashed in the baby pool the whole time and LOVED it! Here are Emma and my Mom at the football game tonight watching Morgan cheer.

Carter had his 9 month well baby today and the doctor says he's perfect! He is 23 pounds and 30 inches. That puts him in the 95th percentile for height and 75th for weight. He is not babbling with consonants, though, so the doctor wants to check his hearing just to be sure he doesn't have a hearing loss. I know he can hear, I just don't know how well, so we will get that checked out just to be safe. My mom got a new Ball Stae cheerleading outfit for Emma this week and while she was there, found this jersey for Carter. It is tooooooo cute!
