First Day of School!

Today is Morgan's first day of first grade!! I cannot believe she is a first grader! That sounds so old!!! She was up at about 5:45 and I happened to wake up at the same time. She saw me and said "Can we just go ahead and get ready since we're both up?" I said "Morgan, the bus doesn't come for 2 hours, lets just lay back down!" but she did not fall back to sleep so we got up at 6:25 and started her "morning chart" (my attempt to make mornings go a little more smoothly this year....they also both have a "bedtime chart" They think its super fun to check things off as they do them. Amazingly, they even picked up the playroom which is usually like pulling teeth, just so they could check off "pick up playroom" off their list!)

Waiting for the bus with Daddy This was no set up! I was taking a picture of Morgan from the road when Emma woke up, she came outside and they gave each other a hug and a kiss.....my heart melted! This proves in spite of all the fighting, they do actually love each other!

My big girl getting on the bus!!!! She got on the bus last year so that wasn't quite as big of a huge deal, but this year is the first time she's gotten to ride it home! She was most excited about riding the bus home and eating lunch at school! The simple things in life!

So that's it, it was only a 1/2 day today so she is home. She is SO tired. I told her just to wait until tomorrow when she has to go 3 hours longer than she did today!!!! HA She had a great day and even has a few friends in her class that she was in Kindergarten with last year. Emma was a little lost without Morgan but we weren't home too much. We had an eye dr appointment and then stopped by the store so we were only here about an hour and a half without Morgan. Tomorrow will be the true test to see her go from 7:30am until 3:30pm without her sister! Maybe they'll appreciate each other more after that absence....or, maybe it will be like today when they were arguing within less than 5 minutes....no joke.
