Our trip to Valencia!

Wow....what a trip! Wow...are we tired!!! It is now Saturday and I am still jet-lagged!! We had an amazing time!!!

We were lucky enough to travel with our good friends, Chris Snyder and Marly Hardy-Snyder.

After a few days of ordering food and then crossing our fingers and sometimes getting lucky (Chris' "entrecot" that ended up being a really nice steak) and sometimes getting very unlucky (my "house salad" that ended up being raw salmon, pickled leeks, capers, corn, avocado and caviar.....I only ate the avocado!) we decided to go to good old McDonald's! It is really almost exactly the same except you can get beer! (its also way more expensive....the Big Mac meal Chris got was 6.80 Euro which is a little over $10 in US dollars!)

There was gorgeous architecture like this everywhere. This was the steeple on a palace that we had dinner at later in the week.

The Holy Grail is housed within the Cathedral in Valencia. It was amazing.

This is just some random really big door and my really funny husband....

It gets even prettier at night when everything is lit up!

Me at L'Oceanografic (see link in earlier post) It is Europe's largest aquarium and it was amazing!

There used to be a river running through Valencia but it kept flooding and causing lots of damage, so in the 50s, the town decided to divert the river south of the city which left 8 miles of empty river bed. In the 90s, they decided to beautify it and turn it into parks, walking trails, bike paths, gardens, etc. It is so beautiful. This is just one of the 17 or 18 foot bridges that go from one side to the other

We found many signs that made us laugh, this one is literally translated to EXIT OF URGENCY!
